Well, for starters, I purchased a DS Lite along with a decent amount of games the first week the Lite was released in the US. My cousin, who I currently live with, suggested I check out modchipman.com to see what I could get for the system, since he's purchased mods for the XBox (to emulate a media center system that he uses upstairs) and his GameCube (Qoob board mod he likes to tweak with for third-party systems and run other region games) through the site in the past. So after taking a look at this site (as well as a few other sites that review DS products) it looks like the best hardware out there for modding a DS system is the G6 Lite. Which happens to be what this contest is for, so I guess I'm lucky to have come across this as well since it's the last day.
To be quite honest, I don't think I'd really use the G6 Lite for anything besides backing up games (since I've already lost my Metroid:Hunters game), playing some music, and possibly even using the PDA feature (I know some Mandarin and can read and write simplified Chinese decently, so I guess it'd be nice to brush up on something like that since it'll be available).
My cousin on the other hand asked if he could borrow it for the purpose of testing the third-party homebrew features that are available for the system. As I'm typing this, we've basically agreed on one thing. If I do win the G6Lite and I'm happy with it and my cousin likes it as well, we'll purchase another DS (not lite since he's not worried about having a fancy system) with another G6Lite (It's my understanding that the G6Lite works on both systems with the included adapter plus I'll pay for half of it) through modchipman.
So I guess this isn't a request for my cousin or me, but for the both of us. Neither of us are necessarily the poorest of people on the block, but we're not exactly rich either and paying bills seems to be nearly a paycheck to paycheck routine (with him working full-time and me going to college and working) so something like this doesn't come along that often. Thanks for having a contest opportunity like this (since I think it's a lot better than those random entry things) and have a good one. |
